We love the large and centrally located Hotel Mont Cervin Palace which has been providing excellent hospitality in Zermatt for over 150 years - sealing the deal here are stunning views of the mountains and Matterhorn. On a smaller scale, the lovely Hotel Excelsior can be found in one of Zermatt’s quieter locations, overlooking the main town. It’s excellently positioned 400m from the Sunnegga Express Funicular and 3 minutes from the town centre.

Hotels are ideal if you want to stay in a large property with fantastic facilities and enjoy having the cooking and cleaning done for you. Book a hotel with bed and breakfast if you want to wake up to a hearty meal before you hit the slopes and sample the resort’s cafes and restaurants for lunch and supper. With half-board holidays, the evening meal is prepared too and you can lunch wherever you like. Full board holidays work well for those that like everything in one place and want to pay for it all before they reach the resort.
