This package holiday to Hotel Butterfly in Zermatt, Switzerland departs Saturday 13th January 2018, for a 7 night stay on a "half board" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

"Recommended - friendly staff, good food and central location"

Lindy, Fulham
5/ out of 5
The Hotel Butterfly is very good, we had a lovely experience. I would recommend this hotel, it caters to everyone - couples as well as families. The staff were very good, very friendly, gave good advice and spoke English well. It was our first time skiing and they helped us find our feet. Our journey from the airport took longer than expected because of the snow conditions and there was food waiting for us in our rooms when we arrived. In the evenings we were served 5 course meals and there was always something I liked, the food was very good. It was convenient to have half board as it’s so expensive to eat out in Zermatt. The access to the hotel is great, it’s centrally located. It took us about 5-10 minutes to walk to the lifts, but we are beginners so we struggled to walk in our ski boots; once we got the hang of it we were faster. There were plenty of experienced people pounding along the pavement and it probably only took them a few minutes. The rooms were nice although we found them quite hot – that’s probably good for you when your muscles are aching after skiing. I can’t imagine what they are like in summer, I guess they turn the temperature down...
