Weather and Man Made Snow in Val d'Isere
On an annual basis, Val d'Isere's average frozen precipitation is 450cm.
This natural weather-created snowfall is helped along with 300 snow guns or "cannons" on 30km of piste - that's over 10% of the total length of Val d'Isere trails.
Off-piste snowboarding and sking is allowed and of course this has the secondary effect of reducing the wear and tear on snow condition on the pisted runs.

In warmer spring months the best riding is on cooler and shady North facing slopes.
