What does 'Half Board' mean? Half Board packages include breakfasts and dinners with the price of your room. Meals are generally served in the same hotel you are staying in, but now and again you might dine in a neighbouring hotel or restaurant. Our best half board deals also include return flights and transfers.

This is the most popular board basis for ski hotels: Wake up to a hearty breakfast to fuel you up for the day ahead, sort out your own lunch on the mountains, then have supper cooked for you when you're back from the slopes – moments from your room.

Benefits of booking half board include not having to prepare breakfasts or dinners for the duration of your stay, or budget for them separately. Your hotel's chefs will do the hard work, and the cost is covered with your room. Lunches are left out, giving you the chance to check out restaurants on the mountainside and in resort, as well as any farmers markets and delicatessens.

What kind of food you get with half board packages will depend on the hotel you stay in. Breakfast might be a continental spread laid out for you to help yourself to, a buffet of hot and cold options prepared there and then or a breakfast menu to order from.
