Bristol ski holidays

8 miles south of the centre of Bristol, Bristol Airport (BRS) is easy to reach if you live in the south west or Wales.

Driving to Bristol Airport:

Bristol Airport’s postcode for Sat Navs: BS48 3DY. For the Silver Zone car park, please follow directions as you approach the airport on the A38.

Bristol Airport is located 8 miles south of Bristol on the A38.

Driving from the north: Exit the M5 at junction 18 and take the A4, drive past Bristol City football ground, then take the A38 to Taunton for 8 miles until you reach the airport.

Driving from the south: Leave the M5 at junction 22 and take the third exit at the roundabout for the A38. Continue on the A38 via the second exit at the East Brent roundabout. After 11 miles, the airport should be on your left.

Driving from the east: Take junction 20 off the M4 and follow the M5 southbound. Leave the M5 at junction 18, then take the A4 towards Bristol and follow the road signs to the airport via the A38.

Driving from Bath and the south-east: Drive along the A4 towards Bristol, exit on the left for the A4174 Ring Road, then follow the signs to the airport via the A38 towards Taunton.

Driving from Wales: On the M4, head left at Junction 22 to join the M49, then take the A4 past Bristol City football ground followed by the A38 towards Taunton.

Parking at Bristol Airport:

Last time we checked, the Express Drop Off point charged £1 for up to 10 minutes parking.

Bristol airport has multiple car parks to choose from. Last time we checked, it was possible to park from £3.73 per day, if parking was booked online and in advance.

Silver Zone Car Park – Usually the cheapest car park, with a regular 24hr bus transfer to the terminal.

Short Stay Car Park – Parking for up to 3 days, located a short walk from the terminal.

Long Stay Car Park – Parking for long stays, with a 3-4 minute bus transfer or short walk to the terminal.

Premier Car Park – This is the closest car park to the terminal, just a 150 metre walk away.

Meet & Greet Car Park – Valet parking, drop your car right next to the terminal.

Public Transport to/from Bristol Airport:

Bristol Airport Buses:

Airport Flyer Express links the airport to Bristol Temple Meads station and Bristol Bus & Coach station.

Bath Bus Company run a service between Bath and Bristol Airport calling at: Saltford, Keynsham, Hengrove Park, Bishopsworth Village.

There is a new direct service to Weston-super-Mare, the Weston-super-Mare Airport Flyer, which runs every hour from 0400 to 2200 daily, stopping off en-route at Worle, Congresbury and Cleeve. The daily A2 bus goes between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol, calling at West Wick, Banwell, Winscombe, Sandford, Churchill, Lower Langford, Wrington, Backwell and Nailsea.

Trains to/from Bristol Airport:

Bristol Meads Rail Station is only half an hour / 8 miles away. First Great Western and Virgin run trains to a number of stations including Bristol Parkway, Bath Spa, Newquay, Cardiff Central, Cheltenham Spa and London Paddington.

Taxis to/from Bristol Airport:

Last time we checked, Bristol Airport had a dedicated taxi and minibus service called Arrow Cars on-site, available at any time of the day, 365 days a year.

Coaches to/from Bristol Airport:

The 404 overnight services between London and Penzance stops outside the terminal every day at 2:45am.

National Express run multiple services from all over the UK to Bristol Bus Station, which has access to the airport via the Flyer express link.

The Aspire Business Lounge is available to adults and families, and comes with complimentary Wi-Fi, drinks and snacks.

Food and Drink:

Dexter’s restaurant has great family food, with half sized dishes for kids and comfy booths (which can be pre booked for special occasions). There’s also fine food and craft beers at Cabin and the usual favourites at Costa, Starbucks and Burger King.

Shopping:

Shops include Accessorize, Claire’s, JD, WH Smith and Superdrug as well as World Duty Free. There’s also a number of cash machines and currency exchange desks.

Wi-Fi:

Travelers get up to 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi in the terminal.
