Lapland Weddings
If you are looking for a fairy-tale winter wonderland setting for your wedding, then look no further than Finnish Lapland. We can offer three different venues in Northern Lapland near the resort of Levi; you can choose between two choices of stunning Ice Chapels made entirely from snow or a cosy Log Kota round cabin. The different venues each have different capacities and offer their own list of optional extras to add those final touches to your special day. We can book your Lapland Wedding for any time in December through to February. We can arrange the whole package for you, including flights and accommodation for yourself and all your guests.
Ideally, you want to get the ceremony booked around a year in advance. If you are looking at a popular day such as Christmas Day, this will need booking earlier. Once the ceremony is confirmed we can get flights and accommodation secured for you and your guests, then around 3-4 months before your wedding day it will be time to start thinking about your menu, booking your extras and excursions. We will then start to put together a full summary of your day. At this stage, we will also begin processing your paperwork; you will have your own wedding coordinator who will be able to assist with all your needs.

Lapland wedding venues
The Northern Lights Snow Chapel at the Northern Lights Ranch
Maximum capacity: 60 people
This wonderful Snow Chapel is located in the beautiful grounds of the remote Northern Lights Ranch. The Chapel is made entirely from snow and ice and each year offers a beautiful interior, it is suitable for both intimate weddings and larger parties where it can hold up to 60 people. On site there is a newly built panoramic restaurant overlooking the reindeer yard, perfect for your wedding breakfast. Bride and Groom can even book a stunning Cabin for an overnight stay, the deluxe cabins even have private hot tubs.
The Wilderness Snow Chapel at the Lainio Snow Village
Maximum capacity: 50 people
This Snow Chapel is located at the Lainio Snow Village, each year the village has a different snow theme which is also reflected in the Chapel. The Snow Village has several snow & ice corridors and is situated in a beautiful National Park providing endless photo opportunities to help capture your special day. There is an Ice Bar and Restaurant that offers you and your guests the opportunity to warm up. Please note that the Snow Village is open to guests so you will not have the whole village for private use.
The Wilderness Kota at the Tonttula Hideaway
Maximum capacity: 30 people
The Wilderness Kota offers a very intimate setting at the Tonttula Elves Hideaway. There are two options for the actual ceremony within the Kota – by the fireplace downstairs, or upstairs in the ‘lighthouse’. You can opt to exchange your vows upstairs in the lighthouse and then enjoy some celebration drinks downstairs by the fireplace. Alternatively, your vows can be exchanged downstairs in front of a roaring fire, followed by a glass of chilled champagne in the comfort of the ‘lighthouse’. Both options allow you to enjoy amazing views the snowy candlelit forest within a perfect location for a warm, private, intimate ceremony.
Winter wedding accommodation
It is essential to make sure your ceremony is confirmed before booking any accommodation. Whether it is just your immediate friends and family joining you in Lapland or a large party, we can arrange a variety of different accommodation types to suit you and your guests. You can opt to be party leader and book on behalf of all your guests, alternatively, each of your guests can get in touch with us directly and be linked to your wedding party.
For the three wedding venues available in Lapland, the closest resort to each of these is Levi. Yllas can also be an option but do bear in mind transfers to and from the wedding venue will be a lot more expensive. Lapland Hotels, Lapland Log Cabins and Lapland Apartments are all available to book with direct flights from 3 UK airports – Manchester, Bristol & London Gatwick. If you are getting married between the end of November and Christmas, we can offer 3, 4- or 7-night stays. If you are getting married anytime post-Christmas, then we can offer 7-night stays in Lapland.
Lapland wedding ceremony
There are two Wedding Packages to choose from, these are:
Ceremony Only Package
This package includes the ceremony itself plus planning & coordination, but no extras. Any extras would be at an additional cost.
Special Package
This package includes the ceremony itself plus planning & coordination, as well as a photographer for 2 hours and a rose bouquet for the bride & buttonhole for the groom, these are available in a range of colours.
Both packages include your wedding ceremony in English, a table and chair to sign the certificate and a personal wedding co-ordinator with you during your special day.
The wedding planning service and coordination included with both packages involves the following:
- A full wedding day summary
- Comprehensive instructions on how to prepare your paperwork in plenty of time before your wedding
- Handling and legal checking of your documents in Finland
- Finnish Marriage Licence Fees
- Town Hall Administration and the Officiant’s Ceremony call out fee
Lapland wedding extras
There are so many extra little details that you may have been dreaming of for your big day, and with your personal wedding co-ordinator, you will easily be able to get these booked and added on to your wedding package. This usually happens around 4-5 months before your wedding date with your personal co-ordinator, who will create a full summary of your wedding day. Below is a list of available extras for you to choose from to add the finishing touches to your special day, please note that not all excursions are available for all venues and prices are on request:

Lapland Wedding FAQ:
Costs for a wedding in Lapland totally vary depending on the time of year you are looking at going, how many nights you want to stay for and which extras you would like to include. The ceremony package ranges from £2,500-£4,500. Your accommodation can range from £700pp-£2,000pp. Then plus any wedding and holiday extras, you would like to add on top to customise your special trip.
All three of the venues that we offer are closest to the resort of Levi in Northern Finnish Lapland, you can also opt to stay in the nearby resort of Yllas, but you will be further away from the wedding sites. The venues on offer are two incredible Ice Chapels, one of which is in a more intimate setting, and a cosy Wilderness Kota set in a stunning forest area.
