Lapland Late Deals
We can’t imagine anything more exciting than a spontaneous, once-in-a-lifetime trip to meet Santa and see the Northern Lights in what is arguably the most magical winter wonderland destination of them all.
There’s a whole host of other activities on offer in Lapland, from husky sledding and reindeer safaris to ice fishing, ice swimming and saunas. Of course you could also arrange a meeting with Santa Claus – perfect if you’ve got kids with you (or are still a child at heart!). We can usually pre-book Santa meetings and activities for you, so you can arrive in resort with a decent itinerary rather than wasting time planning and organising.
The region has a prime location straddling the Arctic Circle, making it one of the most snow-sure places you could choose to ski, particularly during early and late season. It can be fairly dark during early-mid season, with January only having around 3 hours of daylight per day but we think this just adds to the unique appeal. The Finns are well equipped to cope with the darkness, too, with a good proportion of runs floodlit in all the resorts. Our favourite resort for skiing after dark has to be Ruka, where every single downhill run is illuminated! The long nights also mean you’re more likely than ever to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. As you reach the end of the season the days get much longer, letting you enjoy the outdoors all day before relaxing on a sun-soaked restaurant terrace and taking in the incredible arctic views.
