San Cassiano has some famously good hotels, known for their gourmet cuisine, sumptuous spas and stunning locations. One of the village's first guest houses when it was built in 1948, the Diamant South looks out to forested slopes and Dolomite peaks from its sun terrace. Also Tyrolean through and through, Hotel La Stua sits in the resort centre just 500m away from the lift. For a real treat, stay in Hotel Fanes which has a spectacular elevated position overlooking the region, about a six-minute walk to the gondola.
Most hotels in San Cassiano are booked on a half board basis, with a buffet breakfast laid out every morning, and supper served at the end of the day – sometimes featuring themed evenings during the week and nearly always a gala dinner for Christmas and New Year. Half board frees up your lunchtimes to try the incredible cuisine available in Alta Badia – the most notable eateries being multiple Michelin starred St Hubertus and La Siriola. There are also some gorgeous Rifugios dotted around the Dolomites if you're doing the Sella Ronda tour.
