For ski-in ski-out, Hotel Etoile de Neige in Pila is perfect if you want to roll out of bed on to the lift, and glide back into the bar at the end of the day. Courmayeur has a sense of seclusion, but also has a shuttle bus service to the piste from hotels like Dei Camosci, meaning you’re never too far from the action.

There’s a huge choice of hotels in Cervinia, with everything from ski-in ski-out, to staying in the village and away from the piste. Hotel Furggen looks down on the village from the valley, while Hotel Jumeaux is in the village centre, a 10minute walk from the Plan Maison cable car. La Thuile’s selection are well priced and good for families and groups alike, as well as having luxury facilities like swimming pools. Hotel Planibel is at the bottom of the main slopes, and Le Miramonti Hotel & Wellness has some enviable facilities.

The hotels in Champoluc and Gressoney also offer a mixture– some with doorstep skiing like Hotel de Champoluc and others centrally located like Hotel Scoiattolo in Gressoney.
