Overview - hotel description - Hotel Le Mottaret description

A stay at Le Mottaret is like visiting family. You’ll feel right at the home the moment you step through the door, and the staff ethos is to do whatever they can to make guests happy.

The lounge is the heart of the hotel, where you could spend hours curled up on a sofa in front of the fire, watching sports on the TV, or playing a game of pool. Even the tables there have board games inlaid in them, so you can challenge your group to Scrabble or Monopoly.

Meals are taken downstairs in the restaurant, which has stunning views of the valley, and the food is simple but tasty. Breakfast offers a range of hot and cold goodies, and in the evening you can take your pick from an array of soup, salads, main courses, desserts and cheese. If you opt to stay all-inclusive, you can also enjoy lunch in the restaurant or out on the Café del Mott terrace – we recommend the burgers – or book to eat in a selection of eateries around resort. And throughout the hotel, there are drink and snack stations where anyone can pick up tea, coffee, cakes and pastries throughout the day.

You’ll soon be making friends with the staff at the bar, who are eager to impress with superb cocktails and indulgent hot drinks. The bar can also be opened onto the sun terrace, which can get pretty lively come après time. And don’t miss taking a turn in the outdoor Jacuzzi.

As for the rooms, they’re lovingly decorated in a modern style, with plush carpets, comfy beds, rain showers, and TVs that can connect to your Netflix account.

If you do manage to drag yourself away to explore the slopes, it’s less than a minute’s walk over to the nursery slopes, which you can take down to the bottom of the lifts.

This package holiday to Hotel Le Mottaret in Meribel & Mottaret, France departs Saturday 5th January 2019, for a 7 night stay on a "half board" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A trad alpine village with choc-box chalets, th...
With three beginner areas known as ‘Zen Zones' plus some good greens to practice on including Le Foret, Altiport and the Cool Moon area (carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings), Meribel's one of the best ski resorts to learn in. If you're skiing with little ones there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees. Moon Wild is a special area where children can learn about local wildlife as they enjoy the s...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It’s said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its night...
