We had a great time, it was all good. There was simply nothing bad about it. It was all good, the ski access was great. The food was good. The apartment was nice and big and great for a family as it was a duplex apartment. The pool was a little cold, however, so we didn’t use it much. It looked just like in the photo and we loved it. Would go back. Great staff. Easy access to the slopes. The closest run is a blue, may be a struggle for beginners. It is down a long slope that is a bit steep and not very wide, and get busy especially first thing. + more

Hotel Hameau du Kashmir Summary

Stylish and modern, the Kashmir is one of Val Thoren’s most highly-rated picks. It’s got a pretty distinctive look inside too. The whole place is decorated in the traditional style of the Kashmir region in India, with richly coloured silks and patterned motifs throughout.

As for starting the ski day, just step outside, click in and cruise down the red run – or you can hop on the shuttle to get to the nursery slopes if it’s your first time. And after you’re done, you can look forward to some well-earned pampering in the fabulous spa. Grab a towel and spend your off-slope hours drifting between the saunas and splashing in the pool.

You’re staying room only here, so you’ve got the freedom to eat what and where you want. But to make morning’s more straightforward, you could upgrade to bed & breakfast and fuel up with a continental buffet spread. Then when dinner time rolls around, check out the hotel’s own à la carte restaurant, the Beef & Lobster – it serves up some of the best steaks in the resort.

I do remember reading a review before going about some buffet food running out, but you just ask a member of staff and they’d go and get you anything really! The ski access was super easy, you come out of the hotel and you’re right on the slopes. It was amazing. It was really easy.

The apartment was nice and big and great for a family as it was a duplex apartment. The pool was a little cold, however, so we didn’t use it much. The spa is adult-only but it’s really nice, with a couple steam rooms, saunas and a jacuzzi. The staff were lovely. The boot room is brilliant. The food was very French and a bit strange. The standard was good but not great for vegetarians and kids. Limited choice. Most people do B&B and the apartment has big kitchen facilities, so it is easy to self-cater if you want. We loved the raclette night though and the afternoon pancakes. The location is brilliant. Right on the slope and opposite a cable car. You have to get a magic carpet up to the ski school meet point, though. The slopes were nice and empty as well which was great. Just do B&B if staying at this hotel, unless you have adventurous kids.

"Absolutely loved it."
