Location - where is Chalet Irene

Chalet Irene is one of the four "Chalets de Bettaix" located in a stunning satellite village of Les Menuires below the fabulous peak of La Masse and beside the River Doron. This beautiful location is hard to beat for Alpine atmosphere with fantastic views up the valley towards Val Thorens and very close to the piste and lift system giving access to the full Three Valleys area. New for 2015-2016 will be a high speed 4-person chair lift from the village making the link to the main resort centre and the whole Three Valleys area much faster.

This accommodation only holiday to Chalet Irene in Les Menuires, France departs Saturday 11th April 2020, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Together with Saint Martin De Belleville and Val Thorens, Les Menuires (say it Lay-Men-Weer) is part of the Vallée des Belleville and probably the cheapest base for the glorious skiing of the 3 Valleys. It’s true, this purpose-built resort’s more focussed on the practical than the aesthetic… but it’s made a valiant effort to shrug off the ‘ugly duckling’ rep - fitting a bit of a facelift in time for the Albertville Olympics. Split into various ‘quarters’ (linked by walking paths, ski runs, shuttle...
The resort has aimed to provide a wide variety for all abilities – and the proof is in the pudding! The opportunities are outstanding for skiers and snowboarders, but you would expect no less considering it is a part of the largest ski area in the world. Novices will find five free lifts either end of the resort for getting to grips on gentle little green runs, and longer greens such as La Violette at the top of the gondola from La Croisette. With a healthy mix of reds and blue runs covering the vast major...
End a day of skiing on the large sun terrace in L’Oisans and sit down in the sunshine with a jug of beer. Kick back with a cocktail or shoot some pool in the cosy Piano Bar Le Kube. Sports games are known to be aired on the TVs in venues like L’Original Café. If you ski over to Val Thorens be sure to go for some drinks at the famous Folie Douce. Those looking for some late night action have two night clubs to choose between; Le New Pop in La Croisette or Le Leeberty in Les Bruyères - an intimate underground ...

Despite being only their second week, the food was all cooked to the highest standards, on time and very tasty without exception. It always amazes me that these guys are not trained chefs but can produce such amazing food so consistently. Full marks to your training and menu design!!

The accommodation was lovey, with everything I'd expect to see from a catered chalet …. The chalet hosts were utter professionals, they were friendly made us feel totally at home and worked hard to ensure our every needs were met. Their cooking skills were exemplary and each meal was a joy to eat! After the service received from them I would have no hesitation returning for another stay and recommending a visit to family and friends. Thank you for a memorable holiday!
