January ski deals

January skiing

If you want low season prices along with high season snow our ski holidays in January 2027 are just the ticket. Skiing early in the year means prices are lower than those of February ski holidays, but you can be fairly confident of more snow than skiing in December or March. Use the "Sort by" function to see the cheapest January ski deals and make sure you add your preferred airport and dates to filter the huge range of January skiing so you can see the packages most relevant to you.

January is the perfect time to find a bargain in the world's top resorts like Meribel, Verbier and Val d'Isere, because it's not quite high season but it is mid-winter, so the snow will likely be superb. If you ski January and want to stay on the snow all day its worth considering the sunnier resorts on Italian ski holidays where the ski weather can be a milder, or choose a resort like Chamonix where you can ski sheltered treelines on wild and windy days or cruise in the sunshine on the easy reds and blues of Le Tour at the top of the valley.

January ski holidays FAQ:

Take advantage of the quieter slopes in January in one of Europe’s sunniest resorts – Alpe d’Huez. It has been nicknamed ‘The Island of the Sun’ due to its reputation of having the most sunshine on the slopes in a year. Alpe d’Huez is a well-priced resort that is great for beginners and intermediates looking to build confidence and find their ski legs. Kitzbühel has excellent snowmaking, which is great for settling in January where the temperatures are colder at night. Obergurgl and Sölden are also firm favourites among skiers looking to beat those January blues.

Look out for these events on your ski holiday in January:

  • Hahnenkamm ski race in Kitzbühel, Austria.
  • Freeride World Tour runs in several locations across the world from January to April. Previous resorts include Hakuba in Japan, Kicking Horse in Canada, Verbier in Switzerland and Fieberbrunn in Austria.
  • Winter X Games in Aspen.
  • Laax Open ski contest in Laax, Switzerland.
  • Snow Polo World Cup in St Moritz.
  • Inferno downhill ski race in Murren, Switzerland.

January is one of the best months of the season for a trip to the mountains. Cold temperatures and regular snowfall should guarantee great skiing conditions in most resorts. For the best snow in January choose Alpe d’Huez, Kitzbühel, Obergurgl or Val d’Isere.
