Take advantage of the quieter slopes in January in one of Europe’s sunniest resorts – Alpe d’Huez. It has been nicknamed ‘The Island of the Sun’ due to its reputation of having the most sunshine on the slopes in a year. Alpe d’Huez is a well-priced resort that is great for beginners and intermediates looking to build confidence and find their ski legs. Kitzbühel has excellent snowmaking, which is great for settling in January where the temperatures are colder at night.
