Editor of The Telegraph ski Henry Druce and Lifetime Achievement winner Graham Bell
At the crescendo of a spectacular Ski and Snowboard Show at London’s Earls Court, British downhill legends Martin and Graham Bell bagged the Lifetime Achievement Award… and very rightly so.
The Bell brothers are two of the best British skiers of all time – both having represented Team GB in the ‘80’s and ’90’s. Crowned “Ski Champion of Britain” a whopping 8 times, Graham has competed in 5 Winter Olympics. After retiring from pro’ skiing in ’98, he started a TV career which included presenting Ski Sunday (look out for his coverage of the Sochi Olympics next year).
Having flown the flag for GB in 4 Olympics, Martin has broken loads of British records on the slopes including “best ever Brit performance in the Olympic Men’s Downhill” when he famously came 8th in the 1988 games. His daughter Reece seems to be following in her father’s footsteps and won the under 12’s giant slalom at the British Championships earlier this year.
It was great to be there to see….
