Solo ski holidays are a great way to meet like-minded people so, whether you're a single skier or solo snowboarder, check out the single ski accommodation below and choose a resort that fits your skiing/boarding style. For a lively time off the slopes, look for resorts with good après ski for singles and consider booking a chalet or chalet hotel which has ski hosting, to make the most of meeting people both on the mountain and over dinner. The first week of the ski season is our favourite for solo skiers – both incredibly sociable and great value. Call our experts for help finding hotels and chalets for single skiers and solo snowboarding holidays.
Room-share ski holidays - agree to share and pay no single supplement.
Twin or double rooms for single occupancy do usually come with a supplement. The most cost-effective approach is to try and find a single room, either in a chalet, or more likely a hotel. We would recommend booking early to avoid missing out. Other factors such as resort, country and accommodation standard/type all play a part so get in contact with us for accurate pricing. The more flexible you are, the cheaper the holiday can be.
Of course! Nothing is stopping you going off skiing on your own, but skiing offers a great shared experience for mixing and meeting a like-minded bunch. Consider signing up to group lessons or guiding.
Do be safe, though. For example, going off-piste on your own is a serious risk even if you’re highly experienced. Make sure you get a guide.
The most popular resorts for solo skiers tend to be places that have a great town feel or inclusive atmosphere. It makes finding a ski group easier (if you want one) and having a true town, like Chamonix, gives lots of options for when you’re off the slopes.
If you’re looking to interact with others, a shared chalet can be a blessing with everyone eating together and coming together in the evenings. Club Med ski holidays are also a popular choice for solo skiers - book yourself into one of the (included) lessons or guiding sessions to ski with others in the day then arrange to meet your group in the bar or restaurant in the evening.
