Chalets Montana and Marco Polo have entire floors dedicated to the pursuit of pampering. The former's is focused on wide, airy spaces - with an indoor pool that's one of the biggest in the Alps.
Meanwhile, Marco Polo has quite literally gone for gold - its jet stream pool is mosaicked with 24 carat leaf, the handiwork of Monsieur Christian Lacroix. The floor's full of similar bespoke pieces -the ceiling is inspired by a 150 year old Moroccan Souk.
The spa area at Chalet Les Anges is as heavenly as the rest of the marble-faced property. After making use of the sauna, steam room or resting area (complete with ornamental pool and fountain), float outside for a plunge pool with views of the Matterhorn. With a wall of pure glass Chalet Grace, also in Zermatt, welcomes the mountains into its wellness area. Come dusk, relaxation here's made that much more ambient by the twinkling of a star-lit ceiling.
