Finding the time to watch a film can be a luxury in itself these days, making chalets with cinema rooms a real treat. Many high end dwellings have dedicated rooms to the noble art of film, with the likes of projector screens, surround sound and blissfully comfy furniture.
Though hosts will happily whip you up a tasty batch of sweet and salty, there's no mistaking chalet cinemas for the local Odeon. In these chalets, cinema screenings are gloriously private and last however long as it takes to pry yourself from the sofa...
The huge screen in Mont Blanc's cinema room is one of many strings to the chalets 'ultra-lux' bow. The designers have taken the necessary precautions to avoid rough-and-tumbles for the remote - fitting every bedroom with its own plasma too.
Mites will love having their very own cinema, especially when it's accompanied by a games console. Chalet Davos is a shining example: its new basement cinema has a PS3 and DVD library (and while the little ones are occupied, the master suite has a terrace hot tub…).
When you're at this level of luxury, facilities rarely stop at the screen: some cinema rooms have their own fireplace and chalets like the Boreale have thrown in pool tables if you fancy a leisurely game while you're watching.
While they aren't cinema rooms per se, at Marco Polo and sister chalet, L'Hotse, films can be projected above the swimming pool. The former also has a cinema screen in its bar area, while the latter's mezzanine lounge is fitted with its own big screen.
