Overview - chalet description - Makini description

Chalet Makini is a pinnacle of contemporary Alpine design. Chic furniture, inspiring artwork, and unrivalled attention to detail make this modern Verbier property truly enchanting throughout.

Completed in 2013, Chalet Makini is a stunning ski-in/ski-out alpine home. This property sits majestically on the banks of a shimmering pond in the highly exclusive Hameau development. Relax on the sun-drenched terrace and watch the rare black swan gliding through the water among paddling ducks. You will be impressed from the moment you step into Chalet Makini by the attention to detail of the interior. Contemporary furniture and art, glittering chandeliers, and sumptuous fabrics have been combined with delightful traditional features such as old wood beams, polished oak flooring, natural stones, antique pieces, and luxurious furs to create a sophisticated and enchanting home with a distinctive Swiss twist.

The property boasts a number of spectacular living spaces, perfect for the sophisticated skier. Your eye will be drawn to the cascading glass petals of the magnificent chandelier suspended from the double height ceiling of the dining room. Twelve guests can be comfortably seated around the baronial table set beside the flickering flames of the grand stone fireplace. This is the perfect setting in which to enjoy a fine dining experience created by your private chef. Chalet Makini has an extensive and impressive wine list both from the new and old world. Some of the rare vintages for sale to guests include a Chateau Latour 1985 and several vintages of Chateau Margaux Grand Vin 1er Cru including a singular bottle from 1934.

Up to 11 guests are housed comfortably in five beautiful and intricately designed bedrooms all with luxury en-suite facilities. The chalet has two stunning living areas, with the main living area focussed around a grand stone fireplace that dates back to the 18th century. Extensive balconies and terraces surround the chalet, and the chalet’s elevated position allows you to enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic mountains in the distance with a glass of champagne in hand.

Upon returning from the slopes each day, treat yourself to a break in one of Verbier’s largest private spas. Exclusive to Chalet Makini, the spa is home to a beautiful indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam, indoor hot tub, well-equipped gym, and extensive relaxation area. Treat yourself to an expert private massage, your favourite drink at the pool, or allow your private chef to prepare healthy after ski treats which you can snack on poolside. The spa is located a short walk from the main chalet allowing you to truly relax and unwind in a unique setting.

Click into your skis in the morning and feel the rush of skiing down a meandering trail that traverses the Hameau village and leads you directly to the Le Rouge teleski from where the main ski area can be accessed. At the end of the day, you can ski straight into the chalet from the Les Esserts beginner's area or from Savoleyres, snow permitting.

Chalet Makini is fully wired for sound and vision with an entertainment system throughout and most bedrooms have cable TV.

Security is of the highest level at Chalet Makini with a dedicated concierge and 24-hour security system in place. Your cars will be will parked in the chalet's internal garage, providing parking for four vehicles with a further three external parking places. Established in 1937, posh party town Verbier covers a sunny plateau slap bang in the middle of Switzerland’s 4 valleys – which just happens to be one of Europe’s biggest and best ski areas. The easy-on-the-eye architecture’s a pretty mix of wood and slate, but it’s what you’ll find within some of these walls that’ll blow your socks off… Blending in with dozens of classic chalets and ski hotels, this place has some of the most luxurious lodgings on the planet. Some hotels come with designer suites an...
Besides being famous for its off-piste routes, Verbier’s well groomed slopes are well known as some of the most challenging in the Alps. Although it mainly attracts intermediate, advanced and expert level skiers seeking adventurous off-piste and steeps experience, the 37 local pistes covering 100km provide for all abilities. The resort has three areas specifically for beginners, including the gentle slopes at Les Moulins, which has a children’s area and Les Esserts, with its 120m magic carpet. Those with a b...
Many say Verbier’s après is the main reason to visit – it’s certainly some of the best in the world and if you want to increase the odds of bumping into Prince Harry or Leonardo di Caprio on the dance floor, there’s no better place to party. From a good old pint in a lively pub (we love Nelson’s and Pub Mont Fort) to swanky cocktails with the socialites at Cordee de Alps, the nightlife is wonderfully varied. An absolute legend is the Farinet - with a huge sliding roof, a commanding position over the mai...
