Established in 1970 the French ski resort Piau Engaly lies at 1420 metres altitude in the Hautes Pyrenees region of the French Pyrenees. With the highest lifts and ski slopes at 2600m the area is snow sure. Over 20 snow cannons ensure artificial snow making covers 10km of trails, which equates to around 15 of the slopes. The nearest airport transfer to Piau Engaly is Toulouse at a distance of 180km or approximately 180 minutes driving time. Their season runs from December to April.
Purpose built in the early '70s on a border plateau facing Spain in the Pyrenees National park. The design is futuristic and functional, the atmosphere lively, family-oriented, French and friendly. Snow guaranteed.

The mountain has 12% beginner runs or nursery slopes, 60% intermediate, 30% advanced slopes and 10% for experts - the most difficult piste is the 0.6km Le Couloir run, with a steepness/slope angle of ?%. You can ski Piau Engaly after dark as there is night skiing on ?km of illuminated piste.

The direction which the various Piau Engaly slopes face can make or break your ski holiday. To guarantee good snow conditions, choose a resort with piste which face the right way for the time of year you're travelling.
- In the coldest winter months of January and February pick a resort with sunny south facing slopes, so your days on the snow doesn't feel like a polar expedition.
