The New England Ski Museum is found at Tramway Base Station. There are dozens of alternative activities in the area including museums, galleries, cinemas and most indoor and outdoor sports facilities. On the unique attractions list are the historic Mount Washington Cog Railway and Santa's Village Theme Park. Clarks Trading Post has a long family tradition of exploration and excitement passed from generation to generation. You'll find it all here - museums filled with Americana, steam locomotives, a covered bridge and the possibly politically incorrect in the modern era - Clark's Trained Bears. One of the many other attractions is Heritage, a walk-through theatrical adventure of historic proportions containing 25 theatrical sets, audio and special effects, live characters and guides.

"Cannon Mountain" by any other name

The American resort is also known as Cannon Mountain Cannon Mountain and has common misspellings:

The direction which the various Cannon Mountain slopes face can make or break your ski holiday. To guarantee good snow conditions, choose a resort with piste which face the right way for the time of year you're travelling.

- In the coldest winter months of January and February pick a resort with sunny south facing slopes, so your days on the snow doesn't feel like a polar expedition. Conversely, in the warmest spring skiing months of March and especially April, a resort with cool and shady north facing trails will ensure you're not riding on slush, but benefitting from best late season snow. The best destinations have areas which face in all directions so that you're guaranteed greating conditions whatever the weather. Cannon Mountain has slopes facing N, NE.
