Ski some of the highest, snowiest and most scenic pistes in Europe, then come home to a gorgeous old alpine village where spas bubble away and restaurants serve incredible fondue… Saas Fee’s a super place to escape to for a short break.

There are 145km of pistes here, and thanks to the Allalin glacier they’re fabulously snow sure – so much so that you can ski here in the summer months. Which means that even though you’re only here for a few days, the chances of enjoying good conditions out on the piste are high.

B&B hotels provide the first meal of the day, leaving you free at lunchtimes and suppers to explore local eateries. Don’t miss a lunch at Threes!xty – the revolving restaurant at the top of a 3500m high mountain – or a cheesy supper at Du.

 

In terms of getting here, Geneva airport (GVA) is about a 2 hour, 45-minute drive away while getting here from Zurich airport (ZRH) takes around 3.5 hours. To make up for time spent on the road, pre-book your lift pass and equipment hire to have it ready and waiting when you arrive – then get straight out and enjoy the mountains.
