Ski deals from Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport ski holidays

Belfast International Airport (BFS) is about a twenty minute drive from Belfast centre. It’s the second biggest airport in both Northern Ireland and Ireland. Airlines including EasyJet, Thomson, Virgin Atlantic and United Airlines serve a number of destinations in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America. You may also be interested in flights from Belfast City Airport and Dublin Airport.

Driving to Belfast Airport:

Belfast Airport’s postcode for Sat Navs: BT29 4AB.

Some Sat Nav users have found themselves being directed to Crumlin - if this happens just exit via The Nutts Corner Road and follow the signs to the airport.

Driving from Belfast: Head northbound on the M2, turn off at Junction 5 for the A57 and follow signs to the airport.

Driving from the north, north-west or north-east: Follow the M2 southbound to junction 5 then take the A57 – the airport’s 7 miles from here and the route should be clearly signposted.

Driving from the south or west: Drive north on the M1 towards Moira, leave at Junction 9 for the A26 and drive via Nutts Corner to the airport.

Driving from Dublin E01: Head north on the E01 and at Newry, take the bypass onto the A1. Take a left onto Moira Road, continue onto Lany Road, then turn left onto the A3. At the roundabout, take the fourth exit onto the A26 and follow signs to the airport.

Driving from Dublin M1: On the M1, drive westbound until Junction 9 and continue on the A26 towards the airport.

Parking at Belfast Airport:

The drop off area can be used for 10 minutes and last time we checked there was a £1 charge.

If you’re parking for a few hours, the Short Stay car park is just a 2 minute walk from the terminal. For a short / weekend ski trip, there’s also a Main Stay about 3 minutes from the terminal. In 2015, 7 days parking cost from £40.

If you’re spending a week or more in the mountains, the Long Stay car park is 5 minutes’ walk from the terminal and the airport can provide coaches upon request. Last time we checked, the price for 7 days was £56.

Public Transport to/from Belfast Airport

Belfast Airport Buses:

Airport Express 300 operate 7 days a week, with busses running every 15 minutes. The bus stop’s opposite the terminal exit and calls at Belfast International Airport, Templepatrick, Royal Avenue and Belfast Europa Buscentre.

Ulsterbus 109A runs every hour on Mondays - Saturdays from 6am-6pm, between Lisburn Rail Station, Belfast Airport and the Antrim Buscentre.

Coaches to/from Belfast Airport:

The Airporter coach runs between Derry/Londonderry and the airport every day of the week.

Trains to/from Belfast Airport:

Lisburn Rail Station has trains to Newry, Portadown, Belfast and Bangor, with connections to stations including Dublin and Londonderry. Between the station and the airport, the Ulsterbus 109A operates every hour, generally from 6am to 6pm, Monday - Saturday.

Taxis to/from Belfast Airport:

The International Airport Taxi Company serve as the official operator. The airport only allows approved taxis in the taxi rank, which is located on the right hand side of the exit lobby.

A Business Lounge is available after the security gates for travellers with any airline and any type of ticket.

Food & Drink:

You can grab a bite and a drink at restaurants and cafes like Burger King, Starbucks and Fed&Watered.

Shopping:

Shops include Aelia Duty Free, WH Smith and Superdrug. There are several ICE Currency exchange desks available both before and after security.

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is provided for 2 hours, after which a small charge usually applies.
