There are no ski holidays from Aberdeen airport this winter, but there are lots from nearby Edinburgh and Glasgow airports.

Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ) is one of Scotland’s main airports and can be found in the parish of Dyce, 7 miles north-west of Aberdeen city centre.

You can fly to over 40 destinations from Aberdeen including Bergen, Geneva and Lapland in the winter.

Driving to Aberdeen Airport:

Driving from the A90: At the Haudagain Roundabout, take the first exit onto the A96 (then follow the instructions below).

Driving from the A96: Drive through Bucksburn and at the main roundabout, take the second exit onto the A947 and follow signs to the airport.

Parking at Aberdeen Airport:

The multi-storey Short Stay car park is close to the terminal building and has 500 parking spaces. Parking prices cost from £1 for 15 minutes to £25 / day (prices were correct at the time this was written).

The Long Stay car park is connected to the terminal by a frequent shuttle bus which takes only a couple of minutes to reach the terminal. Last time we checked, the first ten minutes was free and a 6 day stay cost £79.00. Usually you can save money by booking online in advance.

There is the option of priority parking, which puts you even nearer to the terminal to make the departures process smoother, for an extra cost.

Public Transport to/from Aberdeen Airport:

Aberdeen Airport Buses:

There are regular buses between Aberdeen city centre and the airport, and the ride takes around half an hour in good traffic. Jet Service 727 operates a 7 day service between Aberdeen Bus Station and the airport, with the last bus leaving the airport at 11pm.

Trains to/from Aberdeen Airport:

The nearest rail station to Aberdeen Airport is Dyce (which is 10 minutes by train from Aberdeen Rail Station). Dyce is a couple of miles from the airport – you can reach it via taxi or the number 80 Jet Connect bus service. The station is on the Aberdeen-Elgin-Inverness line and trains from Edinburgh and Glasgow also pass through.

If you’re travelling via Aberdeen centre, First ScotRails runs services through Scotland and has trains to London Euston. National Express East Coast serves Edinburgh and King’s Cross and CrossCountry Rail connects Aberdeen with Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton and others.

Taxis to/from Aberdeen Airport:

Taxis are available outside the terminal from the airport taxi operator Comcab.

Coaches to/from Aberdeen Airport:

On weekdays, Kineil Coaches run between the airport, Peterhead and Dyce.

Coaches from further afield usually stop in the city centre of Aberdeen at the Guild Street Bus Station. At the time this was written, you could catch the Jet Service 727 bus from Guild Street Bus Station to the airport.

National Express connects with Birmingham, Bristol and London. Scottish City Link has services to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Blackpool and Belfast and Megabus coaches also run from a number of British cities.

Lounges:

Upgrade to the Northern Lights Executive Lounge for locally-inspired food, a fantastic drinks selection, panoramic views and relaxed vibe. Other lounges include the British Airways Terraces Lounge for executive or flexible tickets customers and the Eastern Airways Lounge, all are located after security.

Food and Drink:

Following a terminal transformation, restaurants and bars include The Distilling House, The Granite City, The Globe, Joe’s Coffeehouse and Costa.

Shopping:

Shops like Boots, Dixons, WH Smith and World Duty Free can be found after security. Travelex deals with currency exchange and it’s possible to order online and pick up the money at the airport.

Wi-Fi:

Aberdeen Airport provides free WIFI throughout the airport.
