Austria has hotels to suit everyone and every budget, from sumptuous 5* to the most traditional guesthouses. Unlike a lot of other European countries, there are still some incredible chalets in Austria. These tend to be localised to a handful of resorts. Austria has over 450 ski resorts. the biggest and best-known ski areas are:

Some resorts open as early as the end of November if snow conditions are good. Most ski packages to Austria start around the middle of December. For the best early season snow try a high resort like Obergurgl or a glacial resort like Solden.
