Best Time To Visit Turks & Caicos

If you’re hoping for a sunny holiday, the Turks and Caicos is a brilliant destination all year round. The dry season spans from December to March, so these months are generally considered the best time to visit. Because of the great weather conditions, there’s also plenty of fantastic events going on during this time. The chances of rainfall gradually increase from April onwards, but you’ll still get sunny days and hot temperatures, with the possibility of a cheaper and less crowded holiday.

The Turks and Caicos Islands have a tropical climate, with warm temperatures all year round. The sea temperatures are always warm enough to swim comfortably in. You’ll find the best weather in the peak season between December and March, with plenty of sunshine and very low chances of rainfall.

Peak season in Turks and Caicos

The peak season runs from December to March, the weather conditions during this time are perfect, with warm temperatures and very little chance of rainfall. It’s no surprise that this period attracts the greatest number of visitors annually! That does mean prices for accommodation and flights are higher this time of year, but it’s worth it for that winter sun.

Low season in Turks and Caicos

Hurricane season runs from June through to November, however serious storms are statistically more likely to occur in August and September. Rainy season lasts from late August to early December, November is the rainiest month of the year.

Humidity levels begin to rise in May, however southeast trade winds usually provide a pleasant breeze. Find a great holiday deal in May and June, avoiding the worst of the hurricane season and making the most of the quiet beaches. Even though July and August are in the low season, expect prices to increase during the school holidays.

Turks and Caicos is a fantastic Caribbean destination, famous for its year-round sun. The months of December to March generally have the best weather. Turks and Caicos is a popular holiday destination for beaches, romantic breaks, luxurious getaways and watersports.

For the best beach weather, visit in peak season between December – March. Temperatures are still warm and the chance of rain is low. April is one of the sunniest months in Turks and Caicos, so this is also a great time to kick back on the beach and top up your tan. Another perk is you’ll probably come across less crowds than in peak season. Swimming can be enjoyed throughout the entire year due to warm sea temperatures.

Conditions are great all year round. July has the warmest water temperatures, but conditions will be pleasant whenever you visit. You may even see a humpback whale during their migration season in between December and March. There are some great snorkelling spots right from the beach in Providenciales – Bight Reef and Smith’s Reef are two of our favourites.

The waters around Turks and Caicos are very calm, so this might not be the best destination for passionate surfers. You’ll find better surfing conditions in hurricane season between June and November, but it's best not to plan your holiday around this activity. Try Barbados, Dominican Republic and Jamaica for some of the best surf spots in the Caribbean.

Turks and Caicos is blessed with warm weather all year round. The best season for outdoor excursions would be in the slighter cooler months from December to April. These months have pleasant warm temperatures without the humidity that comes later on during hurricane season.
