Festivals and events in St. Kitts & Nevis in April

Easter is a public and popular holiday on St Kitts and Nevis, but with a Caribbean twist. On Good Friday, it is Kittitian tradition to fly kites. Supposedly, this tradition began when a teacher used a kite to demonstrate Christ’s ascension into Heaven, to his students. The two popular areas in which this fun event occurs are Black Rocks and Frigate Bay Lawn, which is located behind the ‘Strip’ of beach bars. There are even some competitions and prizes to be won, including ‘best homemade kite’. This is a great experience for the whole family to enjoy.

Held at the renowned Spice Mill Restaurant on Cockleshell Beach, Spice Festival is an annual event that blends St Kitts's favourite flavours to create an extraordinary weekend of food and fun. It is spread across 3 days and features celebrity chefs, local artisans and more.

Top places to visit St. Kitts & Nevis in April

April is a quiet month in terms of tourism, so even the most popular beaches will be significantly less busy. Frigate Bay South, one of the most popular beaches on St Kitts will be quiet, and thus a perfect time to enjoy the warm weather, gentle waves, and golden sand, uninterrupted.

For active families, you will love snorkelling at Turtle Beach. It is one of the best spots in St Kitts for seeing tropical fish and turtles. Turtle Beach is located at the end of a sometimes-tricky dirt path, just off from the branch of highway heading towards Cockleshell Beach and Banana Bay, but the warm waters and soft sand between your toes is rewarding enough.
