Best luxury destinations in Bermuda

The Crystal Caves of Bermuda are an otherworldly network of caves and subterranean lakes first discovered in 1901 by two Bermudian boys who were trying to look or their cricket ball. What they unearthed would later be known as one of Bermuda’s true hidden treasures – a cavernous, watery world complete with centuries-old stalactites and stalagmites. You can take a guided tour deep inside these two caves where you will descend around 120 feet below ground for an unearthly, once in a lifetime experience.

Right next to the Walsingham Nature Preserve, and near the Grotto Bay Beach Resort, is the Blue Hole Park – named aptly for the blue hole at its centre – a 12-acre destination for swimming, cliff-jumping, and cave exploring. Entry is free, and since it’s relatively secluded, it tends to be frequented only by locals. The destination of this little adventure is the swimming hole framed by mangroves and teeming with bright fish.

Head to Hamilton, the island’s capital, for an array of leisure activities; including fresh but contemporary boutiques, some of Bermuda’s best restaurants and a handful of cultural sites. Visit the Island Shop on Queen Street, the National Gallery, or Walker Christopher’s fine Jewellery store.

Best beaches in Bermuda

Bermuda is known for having some of the world's most stunning beaches, and here are a few of the very best scattered along the island:

Travel to Southampton’s Horseshoe Bay Beach and you will understand why it's Bermuda’s most celebrated stretch of shoreline. The long, sweeping crescent of pink sand is punctuated with rocks and lapped by turquoise waves. The nearby Beach House offers snacks, rentals and changing facilities.

West Whale Bay Beach, with a fitting name because in April, you can spot humpback whales offshore as they migrate from the north to their summer feeding grounds. This beach is beautiful and has a large grassy area behind the beach making it an ideal spot to enjoy the ocean sunset.

Warwick Long Bay is Bermuda’s longest beach and set against a backdrop of scrubland and coastal grasses. Just offshore, a coral island floats above the water making it an excellent area to snorkel.

Best luxury & 5-star hotels in Bermuda

Bermuda offers a range of luxurious, 5-star hotels dotted all over the island, namely in the popular and gorgeous town of Hamilton, Bermuda’s capital city. Here you will find a handful of hotels with outstanding facilities, including Rosewood. Staying at this hotel, you will have exclusive access to one of the largest private, pink-sanded beaches in Bermuda as well as a golf course.

The Loren at Pink Beach is another 5-star hotel that boasts a beachfront location as well as a sleek modern design with sweeping views. There is also an infinity pool, a spa, and a golf club that’s only 5 minutes away. If you’re looking for luxury while also wanting a family holiday, this is the perfect place.

Southampton also has a range of hotels that offer luxury, including the Fairmont – a 5-star hotel that is luxurious and offers a golf course, a spa, and a fitness centre. It also has water sports, tennis, and other facilities on site.
