Best Time To Visit Dubai

The ideal time to visit Dubai is in winter, from November to April. During this period, the weather is pleasantly mild, with temperatures averaging between 20 and 25°C, which is perfect for outdoor activities and discovering all that Dubai has to offer. However, it's worth noting that this is also Dubai's peak season, so expect more crowds and higher prices for accommodation and flights than at other times of the year.

Weather in Dubai

Dubai's desert climate means that it is hot and dry all year round. Dubai enjoys sunny days all year round, with an average of eight hours of sunshine a day during the winter months and ten hours a day during the summer months. The summer months are incredibly hot and humid and often unbearable for some tourists, with temperatures regularly exceeding 40°C and rarely dipping below 30°C. The winter months are still hot, but perhaps much more pleasant, with an average of 25°C during the day and lows of 15°C at night. Dubai has very little rainfall; the wettest month is February, with an average of 40 mm of rainfall over the whole month.

Seasonality in Dubai

Dubai is split into two main seasons; peak season and low season. During peak season, Dubai is crowded, prices are incredibly high, and accommodation is at full capacity. Alternatively, Dubai’s low season is considerably quieter and much cheaper due to the weather being far too hot and unpleasant for many.

Peak season in Dubai

Dubai’s high season is from November to April. This is when temperatures are at their most enjoyable, but you can expect higher costs for accommodation and more people at the city’s main attractions as a result. Peak season, however, is best for beach lovers and anyone wanting to make the most of Dubai’s outdoor activities, from desert safaris to exploring the waterways of Dubai Creek.

Low season in Dubai

The low season in Dubai is between June and August. During this period, temperatures can exceed 40°C, which can become unbearable and unsurprisingly discourages many tourists from visiting the city during this period. Dubai is therefore much quieter than in high season, and there are often good deals on accommodation, flights and excursions to be had during this period.

Holidays in Dubai

Despite Dubai's warm, sunny climate all year round, March-May is the best time to go to the beach. During this period, the weather is consistently warm and the sea temperature is very pleasant. Unless you think you can handle Dubai's scorching summer heat, we'd advise you to avoid visiting Dubai between June and August if all you intend to do is sunbathe.

Diving in Dubai is possible all year round. However, visibility is best in spring and autumn. The water temperature is highest between June and August and, although it is still quite warm, it drops considerably in November, December and January.

The official surfing season in Dubai runs from October to April. However, the best and most reliable months to go surfing are December, January and February. These are the months when the swell is strongest and the water temperature fluctuates between 20 and 22°C, making them ideal conditions for riding the waves. We recommend that you avoid trying to surf in Dubai between June and September: the water is flat and it's incredibly hot.
