Situated at the relatively high altitude of 1740m, with a ski area stretching up to 2313m, Obertauern is a delightful place to spend a week at Easter time.

With the resort conveniently located just 90 mins away from Salzburg Airport, Obertauern is perfect for a quick spring getaway. The fantastic thing about this resort is the fact that most of our properties are ski-in, ski-out with the pistes just a stone’s throw away.

Bars and mountain restaurants are scattered over the slopes creating delightful lunch spots to soak up the sun on a deck chair and great après ski destinations in the afternoon such as the Edelweissalm Ski hut which serves hungry skiers snacks throughout the day (live music and dancing usually begins at around 4pm).

To enjoy the best snow conditions, make sure you’re up in time to catch the first lift of the day – see if the ticket office are still running their ‘Good morning Obertauern’ programme where the lifts open extra early once a week. There are plenty of non-ski activities to keep everyone entertained if on the off-chance, conditions are a little slushy later on. These include bowling, sleigh rides, ice curling and ice- skating. Special events usually include a visit from the Easter bunny and a treasure hunt which kids will love.

Most accommodation can be booked with flights and transfers giving you an easy way to get everything sorted. Alternatively there are self-drive packages with channel crossings or accommodation can be booked separately for those opting for independent travel.
