Weather and Man Made Snow in Obertauern
On an annual basis, Obertauern's average frozen precipitation is 700cm.
This natural weather-created snowfall is helped along with 120 snow guns or "cannons" on 80km of piste - that's over 80% of the total length of Obertauern trails.
Off-piste snowboarding and sking is allowed and of course this has the secondary effect of reducing the wear and tear on snow condition on the pisted runs.
