Franck Mischler cooks up some delicious Savoyard dishes in La Fruitiere, which is a sister restaurant to the infamous Folie Douce. Local products (lots of which is organic) and age-old recipes are used to recreate the traditional tastes of the mountains and the menu includes some fantastic meat dishes, pastas, risottos and more. They do ridiculously good waffles too...

We love the food at Evo. There’s nothing better than a full English to start off a day on the snow, and there’s no better place to have one than here – the cafe opens at 8:30 in the morning, so get here in time for a hearty breakfast, hot choc or milkshake before you set off on the slopes. Check out their Plat du Jour for a lunch-time stop off or order their legendary Bad Boy Burger – this is a great place to bring the kids for lunch as you can feed them for around 6.50€ (they also provide colouring pencils, games and wifi to keep littl’uns entertained). This is also a supper place for an evening meal (we love the a la carte menu) and there’s no better place in Meribel to go for a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings if you’re skiing in the festive season.

Grand Cafe des Pistes covers everything from morning ‘til night with hearty breakfasts, tasty afternoon tea and cake and cocktails later on. Families are welcome and kids will love the video games, billiards table, table football and free wifi while grown-ups enjoy a sophisticated sherry. Our favourite thing here is the lovely fireplace in the lounge which is just what you need to warm up after clocking up miles on the snow.
