The boulderhalle’s a great place to fine-tune your climbing skills and work on your physical strength. Children are welcome, too and it’s ideal for taking your fist tentative steps into the sport. This is largely to do with the emphasis on safety that the owners have put in place; it makes it easy to challenge yourself knowing that you are in no real danger.

Actionclub Zillertal is passionate about outdoor activities, both in the rivers and on dry land; they organise everything from mountain tours, biking and climbing to rafting, tubing and canyoning. Family rafting is one of their most popular trips because it’s such good fun to do together. Canyoning, too, is excellent here – there are varying levels of intensity and you’ll go with a knowledgeable and capable guide. With all of their excursions, safety is a major priority, as is conservation.
