Martinique school holidays deals

Known as the 'island of flowers,' magnificent Martinique shines with its magnificent beaches, lush peaks, tropical gardens and captivating history. Adults and kids alike will love the fascinating attractions and exhilarating outdoor activities that Martinique has to offer. Snorkelling through colourful reeds, hiking the extensive trails, kicking back on a beach, sailing on a catamaran cruise and so much more.

Travelling during the school holidays may be an amazing experience for the kids but it's not cheap. Christmas, New Year, February and Easter fall during peak season when hotels book up fast. To guarantee the best choice of rooms and the greatest deals, we recommend booking early - 8 to 12 months in advance is ideal. This gives you more accommodation options and you can spread the costs over the year. For a slightly cheaper deal, travel at the May and October Half Term as these both fall within this low season.

Weather in Martinique during school holidays

February Half Term

February falls during both peak season and dry season with an average day temperature of 28°c. It's the driest month of the year making it one of the best times to visit Martinique.

Easter holidays

The Easter holidays often fall at the end of the dry season, so the temperature is slightly higher than earlier in the year, with a daytime average of between 28-29°c. They're slightly more rainy days this time of year compared to February, but the weather is generally good in April.

May Half Term

May is the final month of the dry season so it's a bit rainier than previous months. The average temperature during the day remains at about 30°c. Any rainy showers are often quickly followed by sunshine.

Summer holidays

The school summer holidays are in the low season for tourism but it's the height of the rainy season. We don't recommend travelling in September as this is the peak of hurricane season, even though hurricanes are rare. The temperature is in the day is around 30°c and will feel very humid.

October Half Term

October weather is similar to the summer months as it is still part of the rainy season. It is hot with an average of 29°c during the day and is one of the wettest months of the year. The weather will improve towards the end of the month.

Christmas & New Year holidays

This is the beginning of peak season and the start of the dry season, the most popular time of the year. Temperatures are a bit cooler, averaging 28°c during the day and rain is less frequent.

Best destinations for Half Term & school holidays in Martinique

There are fantastic places to stay all over the island, but Sainte Anne is one of our favourites! Not only does it have one of the biggest all inclusive hotels on the island, Club Med Les Boucaniers, but it also has one of the top beaches in Martinique, Grande Anse des Salines beach. Soft, white sand lined with tall palm trees... it really is easy on the eyes. There are brilliant snack bars and ice cream vendors for the little ‘uns.
