With its slopes skiable until late April on a typical season, Kronplatz is usually perfectly suited to an Easter getaway. The warmer weather tends to attract many tourists to the resort (especially Italian sun-worshippers!), however the comprehensive lift system, which includes an incredible 16 cable cars, tends to do a stellar job of stopping delays. Slush doesn’t usually cause much bother on the slopes around Concordia (which start around 2000m) or the lower tree runs which are shaded from the glare of the sun.
If the snow does happen to get pretty poor during the afternoons, there’s a super refugio called Panorama on the south-facing Furcia slope. Like the name suggests, it has an amazing view of the Fanes-Senes-Braie natural park – and there’s a sun terrace to sit and catch some rays on. You’ve got loads to do back in the valley during the afternoons, too: we especially love Brunico’s Cron 4 for its outdoor pool and wellness facilities and there’s a good variety of shops to be found in all of the main villages.
