As snow sure resort, this is the perfect choice for a relatively early season holiday over Christmas. Festive magic is easy to come by in Les Orres, which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and beautiful alpine scenery.
Being a Famille Plus resort (a label awarded by the French tourist board to the best family destinations) there is plenty going on over Christmas in both villages to ensure families and children in particular have a really magical stay.
The resort makes the most of the facilities, and there is traditionally an ice show and disco on the ice in the run up to Christmas, as well as more specifically festive goings on. You can normally see a torch lit descent on Christmas Eve by the ESF instructors and a fireworks show to mark the real beginning of the festive period. On Christmas Day, Father Christmas has been known to make an appearance and even have time for photos in both 1650 and 1800. Carol singing usually takes place in both villages, and the ‘Dinos’Orres’ restaurant is usually open on the 25th, but early booking is recommended.
