On an annual basis, Tignes's average frozen precipitation is 550cm.

This natural weather-created snowfall is helped along with 216 snow guns or "cannons" on 50km of piste - that's over 17% of the total length of Tignes trails.

Off-piste snowboarding and sking is allowed and of course this has the secondary effect of reducing the wear and tear on snow condition on the pisted runs.
