Overview - hotel description - Hotel Jakobwirt description

The Hotel Jakobwirt is known for its friendly service and traditional Tyrolean décor – you can be sure of having a truly Austrian experience here.

Located in the centre of Westendorf, the hotel mirrors many qualities of the village – charm, tradition and a cosy atmosphere. From the hotel, you can stroll to the beginner slopes in just two minutes, and for access to the SkiWelt area, walk across to the Alpenrose gondola in under five minutes.

Inside, the interiors use natural materials and local craftsmanship, helping to complement the surrounding Kitzbühel Alps. The bedrooms are filled with custom furnishings made from high-quality materials and you can find all the usual necessities to make your stay that little bit more comfortable.

If it’s the views you’ve come for, then the hotel’s sunny terrace, overlooking the picturesque Brixen Valley, will be right up your street. And after a day exploring the valley, head back to the hotel and freshen up with a dip in the indoor pool or a session in the sauna or infrared cabin.

There’s also a lot of focus on food at the Jakobwirt. The highly qualified chefs spend their days creating hearty and inventive 5-course evening meals with both local and international influences.

Lovely old Westendorf is easily one of the prettiest Austrian ski resorts – but there’s more to this village than Alpine charm galore. It’s one of the nine resorts in the whopping SkiWelt area, and with Kitzbühel just along the valley there’s no shortage of excellent skiing.

Known as one of the most beautiful villages in Europe, sunny Westendorf has glorious views of the Windau valley and is fit to bursting with old school Austrian charm. A pastel yellow, onion-domed church is surrounded by wooden chalets and trees, the wild and rugged Wilder Kaiser massif towering in the distance. Traffic jams, flashing lights and concrete tower blocks are worlds away. It doesn‘t take long to make the break from busy town life. A short transfer time (around an hour) from Innsbruck Airport mea...
A great advantage of Westendorf’s position is the fact that slopes there are generally quieter than on the main SkiWelt circuit due to most of the skiing being on the other side of the valley between Brixen and Scheffau. Gentle nursery slopes are conveniently located near the village, and there are some gentle blues like Piste 11, a long and scenic run through the trees. Intermediates are spoilt for choice with around 128km of red runs to conquer in the SkiWelt massif. Some highlights include the red ...
The après is lively but compared with nearby Kitzbühel; it’s more contained and family-oriented. That being said, there are some great places to have a drink after a day on the slopes. The après ski starts on the slope-side sun terraces when the lifts begin to close. Favourites are the Bruchstall and Gerry’s Inn based on nursery slopes 83 and 84. Later in the evening popular bars include the Village Pub and Kibo both of which have regular live music evenings. For a classy evening out with friends, try Moski...
