The obvious beauty of a self-catering ski holiday is the freedom that comes with preparing meals to fit around the group, rather than planning your day around pre-determined set meal times. Les Gets is a great place to get an apartment, as there is always so much going on in the village.
Les Fermes Emigay are great - not only do they boast excellent central location, only 3 minutes’ walk from the centre of the village, but they also sleep up to 6, making them the perfect option for families and smaller groups.
The focus on a self-catering holiday doesn’t necessarily have to be food prep, whilst there is a decent sized Carrefour supermarket in the resort, the choice of restaurants in the village is plentiful, and is a great excuse to go and sample the local delicacies of raclette and tartiflette, the Ferme de Montagne does a great version of both of these.
Apartments can usually be booked as part of a package with flight and transfers, with channel crossings for anyone wanting to drive to the resort, or on their own if you want to organise your own travel.
