Overview: apartment description: Les Fermes Emiguy Apartments description

Looking for a stylish base to return to after a day on the slopes? Then look no further than Les Fermes Emiguy, the self-catering apartments of choice for independent mountain-lovers.

The 74 apartments, spread over four buildings, are the epitome of modern chalet style - think dark woods, soft furnishings and sleek amenities. They each have a well-equipped kitchenette where you can whip up scrummy breakfasts and dinners in no time – or avoid cooking altogether and take advantage of the many restaurants and shops in the village. Most of the apartments also have a balcony or terrace, so you can make the most the fresh mountain air and gorgeous scenery.

The beautiful indoor pool and hot tub are a special treat after a long day – and something that really makes Les Fermes Emiguy a cut above many other self-catering options. There’s also a sauna and steam room to really help you unwind, and you’ll get one visit free. In the evenings, you can curl up on the sofa in your apartment, catch up with friends in the reception lounge area with open fire, or head out for a few après drinks.

It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the slopes and nearest lift, so you don’t have to worry about lugging your gear too far. If you’d rather save every bit of energy for the piste, you can hop on the free shuttle bus, which runs every 30 minutes.

This is as close to an alpine fairy tale as it gets. A beautiful resort tucked away between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Les Gets’ charm comes from rustic wooden chalets, friendly locals and the inevitably cosy atmosphere a smaller village can offer. Les Gets is pronounced Ley-Jay. Situated just an hour from Geneva Airport, it’s perfect for those who don’t want to waste a chunk of their holiday travelling, as most people who fly in the morning can make it onto the slopes by mid-afternoon. This is also one...
Les Gets has several ski schools, making it an excellent place for children and beginners. Most have bi-lingual instructors, and the resort’s popularity with families means instructors are well versed in teaching children to ski. A designated beginner park called Mappy’s Area is close to the Chavannes cable car, with gentle slopes, two magic carpets and rope tows to ski smoothly on 4 gentle slopes. There are good blue runs near the centre of town, and further up towards Chavannes, for any older learners w...
Whilst the resort isn't primarily known for a huge après ski scene, a choice of over 100 shops, bars and restaurants means there's definitely fun to be had after a long day on the slopes. There are several lively bars, and most will stay open until about 2 am. The Irish pub is great for its friendly atmosphere, home-brewed beers, live music and great tapas. The Black Bear is child friendly, with a pool table and located just above the Irish pub. If 2 am isn't late enough for you, Igloo nightclub is open until 4...

"Nice apartments – request a large one as apartment sizes vary"

The Ball Family, Bath
3/ out of 5
The apartments were very nice. We ended up asking to switch to another apartment as the layout didn’t really suit us. Each apartment seemed to have a different layout (my parents came with us and their apartment was also different). The décor, etc, was the same in each one though. We moved from an apartment with a very small living/kitchen area to an apartment with two seperate rooms for the children and a larger living/kitchen area which was much better. We didn’t have to upgrade or pay extra, we just asked to be moved, which was accommodating of them. The ‘Pepi Penguin Club’ that we pre-booked together with our holiday was good, our 3 year old seemed to be well looked after and kept wanting to go back each day. The location was ok, we wouldn’t wanted to have been any further away from the centre though. It was about a 10 minute walk with the children and all their stuff, which is about our limit. There was a nice pool onsite. There was also a sauna and steam room (which you had to pre-book, a bit of a pain). The apartments were close to some nice shops and restaurants and there is an ice rink in town. It’s a good area for families.
