Folgarida Easter holidays

With the season usually going on until mid-April, Easter is a lovely time to visit Folgarida. The climate is of course much warmer as the season draws to a close, although the resort’s north-facing slopes usually do a good job to ensure that the sun glare doesn’t spoil some quality skiing. If conditions do get slushy, lots of the runs are shaded by trees which should still offer heaps of preserved snow, meanwhile the Passo Groste area at Madonna di Campiglio reaches over 2400m for a more snow-sure network of pistes.

Kids’ facilities in the area are fantastic, with 5 ski schools to choose from, as well as indoor and outdoor playgrounds at the mountain’s central hub. Childminding is available for bambini, whilst various programs offer ski lessons and afternoon activities for the older children.

The scenery of the Dolomites is just as stunning in springtime as it is in winter. In true Italian style, you can eat your lunch al fresco at one of Folgarida’s many mountain restaurants (there are some great ones at Malghet Aut) and admire the views. With many cafes boasting sun terraces with deckchairs, there’s ample opportunity for kicking back with a drink and soaking up the last rays of the afternoon.
