With Scheffau’s gentle returns back to the resort and its neighbouring nursery slopes, this is a great place to introduce the kids to the snow during their February half-term holiday. The resort is home to the SkiSchule Scheffau, which with over 30 years of experience can help your little ones get to work on making their first ski tracks. Any courageous kids who are lucky enough to learn to ski in Scheffau may even want to have a go on piste 61, the meandering blue return back down to the village which will have them leaving the resort with a beaming smile on their face and wanting to come back next year! For those too young to ski, the Pepi Penguin club offer day care, with arts-and-crafts, games and outdoor activities to keep everyone entertained. If there are any non-skiers coming along too, they won’t be disappointed. With things like exhilarating tobogganing or getting shown around the villages on horse-back, there will always be something here to keep them happy.
The snowfall in Scheffau reaches its peak at this time of year, and despite the resort’s relatively low altitude, the snow cover has been fantastic in the past few years. After a tiring day on the slopes, sink into your comfortable bed in your hotel room, and get a good night’s rest in preparation to do it all again the next day.
