Hotels are usually larger than chalet properties, so they often offer better facilities such as spas, swimming pools and onsite à la carte restaurants – definitely bear this in mind when searching through your options.

Thankfully Italy tends to be better priced than Switzerland and France, so it’s possible to find affordable accommodation here despite the resort’s up-market reputation.
