Mayrhofen has it's fair share of small and friendly guesthouse style hotels, but the Wohlfühl Hotel-Garni Robert really stands out - both for its stylish interior and its impeccable service. Wohlfühl literally translates to English as 'wellbeing' and everything is geared towards you having a revitalising stay in a top ski resort.
We'll start with the wellness area that's been designed beautifully - with plenty of space to kick back and relax in modern yet peaceful surroundings. There's a range of rejuvenating massages and treatments on offer or you can make the most of the Finnish sauna, a rose quartz steam bath or the Swiss pine infra-red snug - alternatively there's simply space for relaxing and a fitness room.
Food is also high on the list of priorities here too. If you decide to stick with bed and breakfast you'll enjoy a hearty Zillertal buffet breakfast with a great range of fresh produce from local organic farms and the hotel's own Perauer butchery and have excellent views from the Garni Robert's winter garden. If you decide to upgrade to half board you'll have a choice of two restaurants for your evening meals - either the Gasthof Perauer, close to the Ahorn gondola, or the Grillkuchl Restaurant, close to the Penken gondola - both have great reputations.
Locationwise, the Garni Robert is in a quiet spot in the Durst area of Mayrhofen. It'll take around 10 minutes on foot to the Penken gondola and a couple of minutes extra to the Ahorn gondola, however Mayrhofen's train and bus station are very near making it easy to get over to some of the quieter lifts of the Ziller valley.
