Location of Kalinda in Tignes

Tignes 1800. Kalinda Village forms an integral part of this ski-in/ski-out altitude village which is a regeneration of the old Tignes Les Boisses. A recently constructed gondola provides easy access to the vast Espace Killy ski area. Formed especially for families and beginners with newly created beginner ski runs and close to the ski school meeting point, the calm and wooded residence surpasses our expectations by proving that Tignes is not just an area for the advanced level skier and après enthusiast.

This package holiday to Kalinda in Tignes, France departs Saturday 28th March 2026, for a 7 night stay on a "self catering" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 2025 was between €1 and €3 per person, per night.

Tignes (pronounced 'Teens' by Brits and 'Teenya' by the French) is one half of the vast ‘Tignes-Val d'Isere’ ski area, one of the biggest linked domains in France. High-altitude terrain and Grande Motte glacier skiing ensure the resort both opens earlier in the ski season and also closes later than most resorts, and we’ve even seen lifts running for stints of summer skiing. Split into 5 purpose-built villages with distinct characters, it's well linked by pistes, lifts and free buses. Tignes Le Lac (aka Tignes...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...

"The pool is great !"

Rachel
4/ out of 5
Everything was clean and the kitchen had everything you need. The bathroom was massive. Also our apartment had a really nice view and balcony as well. This was our second time to these apartments, and I'd say the apartment itself was good. The sofa bed, if you want to sleep 2 people, isn't great. When you pull it out, it's like 2 separate beds, but because I was on my own, I just slept on it as it was as a sofa. And the pool is great! If you've got kids that's really great, because it's got a kid’s pool there as well. And everyone was really helpful, like the receptionist and the other staff. So yeah, it was a great holiday for us! The apartment was in a really good spot, ski in/ski out and right near the ski hire shop. You can ski back right to the apartment. It is down a red, but my 6yr old did it. I mean it’s an easy, very wide red run down. If you have to be at a lesson in central, you do have to get the bus. But it's literally right outside, it's really regular and there's a timetable. I had to get my kids to their lessons up in Le Lac and it was all very easy and fine, it wasn’t complicated in my eyes, and it only took 5-10mins.

Really really lovely. The apartments were fresh and clean. They had all the amenities that would you ever need. A few things missing, like the bath plug, but the staff were super helpful. The apartment had all the amenities for cooking. So it was ideal. It was perfect! Straight outside to the piste. So its ski in/out. Really nice gentle run down to Les Brevieres aswell. There is not a lot to do in Tignes 1800, especially for the child.
