Overview - hotel description - Das Hotel & Wirtshaus Post description

The popular Das Hotel and Wirtshaus Post was completely renovated in summer 2014 to look sleek and modern throughout. All the rooms are uniquely decorated with furniture designed specifically for this great hotel.

The Post is in a great position in St Johann's pedestrianised town square. Getting to and from the mountain is a doddle thanks to the local ski bus which stops just around the corner. Otherwise it's only about 10 minutes on foot to the Harchbichl gondola and the Baumoos nursery slopes - either way, you'll be on the slopes in no time.

This place is all about comfort and traditional Tyrolean hospitality - it has a history that reaches back as far as medieval times. And with such a relaxed ambience you'll have plenty of opportunity to kick back and simply enjoy the local charm and the friendly service on hand.

Through the renovation they also added a superb wellness and fitness area, 17 more rooms and a conference centre - all completed to an excellent standard. You'll get a real flavour of the Tyrol here that you can take back home with you.

With its beautiful Baroque village centred around the magnificent church, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d taken a step back in time as you wandered the streets of St. Johann. An understated resort, it has been overshadowed by its more well-advertised neighbours in recent years- notably Söll and Kitzbühel- so you can expect a relaxing and relatively crowd free holiday here. An incredibly family friendly resort with a wide range of off slope activities catering to the most eclectic of tastes, St Johann ...
Beginners will be heartened by the super short lifts right at the bottom of the resort, and with lifts right from the village accessing a good variety of gentle slopes it’s a great place to progress as a skier. For those who’ve just moved off the beginner lifts, the first port of call should be the Hochfeld lifts- the Hochfeldabfahrt blue is a lovely long wide cruiser. It also runs alongside the snow park, so you can watch the pros at play whilst riding the lift, which will definitely give you something to aim...
St Johann’s home to a truly international selection of restaurants- you’ll find Thai, Indian, Chinese, and Italian takeaways- and even a McDonalds! For a more sophisticated meal, Gasthof zum Dampfl is one of the most awarded restaurants in the region, and serves a delicious range of local delicacies. Enjoy a truly multicultural experience at the Masianco St. Johann which offers a diverse range of dishes from Latin America to the Mediterranean (the Bouillabaisse is particularly delicious) and everything in betw...
