As a beginner, having to take loads of lifts to reach easy runs can be a bit daunting. You don’t have to worry about this here, with most blue runs near hotels and bars, for those all-important hot chocolate breaks. Nursery slopes with magic carpets let learners work on snowploughs, in short, manageable bursts - when you begin to feel more comfortable, take the Valena chair lift for a couple of mid-length blues. 60% of the slopes have been carefully crafted for intermediates, leading in all directions for ...
Of course, one of the best things about Italy is its delectable delicacies. Whether you're looking for fast food to fill you after a hard days skiing (try La Torretta for their filling pizza) or a more authentic, native dining experience (El Bait serves local, genuine cuisine), you won't be disappointed. Il Focolare is well worth a visit for classic pasta and tiramisu – make sure you book early! Eating on a budget is easy, with fast food dishes from 5€, and you can usually grab a three-course meal for about 10...

"Fantastic staff, handy location, incredible food"

Rickers, Darlington
4/ out of 5
The Eden was really nice, I’d google mapped it prior to booking and the location is absolutely ideal – the nearest ski lift is a 5 minute walk away and the centre of town’s also a 5 minute walk away so it’s handy for everything. First and foremost the staff were all unbelievably nice people, they couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. Our bedroom (number 8) was functional and spotlessly clean with everything we needed - plenty of hot water and nice, comfortable beds. If I was being super picky we didn’t have an amazing view from our window but that wasn’t particularly what we wanted a hotel for anyway! Neither of us are fussy eaters but the food was really good with an incredible choice of dishes. There isn’t a bar area as such but they had a lounge where you can sit and have drinks. We were pleasantly surprised that the prices weren’t overly expensive compared to the bars in town, which certainly worked in their favour - there were some really nice wines too.

"Central hotel, good food"

We all liked the Eden, everybody has different experiences but for us it was a good week. The food was quite a bit better than we’d had on a previous ski holiday (stayed at the Edelweiss in Sauze d’Oulx), it was more substantial in terms of variety and they had more meat which we liked as well as a selection of salads. The bedrooms weren’t quite as nice as we’d had in the Edelweiss, which were a little more countrified. The hotel has a very good heated boot room and the location was very central to the resort. To get to the slopes, we only had to walk a 1/4 to 1/8th of a mile. We were very happy with the ski area.
