Overview: hotel description: Hotel des Dromonts description

Legendary- Literally perched on the edge of a cliff this iconic building is a true legend in Avoriaz where it was the first address to be built in 1964 in this revolutionary resort. The hotel maintains its true original spirit after more than fifty years and is now a vintage and cosy retreat with its 60’s architecture fully renovated and completely rejuvenated by the right modern touches and a cleverly redesigned layout for contemporary mountain needs.

Back to the future – You don’t need to reach 88 miles per hour in a DeLorean to go back in time, the Hotel des Dromonts can take you to a warm and cosy version of the swinging 60’s made with bright colours and retro bespoke designed furniture. The 35 various size rooms available from club room, a sort of skier’s pod with built-in furniture, to Family Suites have precise identities, tinted red cedar woodwork, vibrant 60’s style fabrics, boudoir style relaxation baths, and windows designed to maximise the views of the surrounding mountains. Here you can even imagine staying in an alpine version of Austin’s pad. Groovy Babe!

Hot tub in the snow - Great Scott! The surprises at the Hotel des Dromonts are not over as access to the beautiful wellness area and spa Pure Altitude, including outdoor Jacuzzi and sauna, fitness room and treatments (payable in resort) area is included. Then the bar Le Festival offers a retro retreat for a stylish après ski and there are two restaurants to choose from. Free WiFi is also included.

Established in the 1960s as the brainchild of Olympic champion skier Jean Vuarnet, Avoriaz is a purpose build resort with tonnes of character. The wood-clad buildings have a striking appearance that set it apart from other destinations. Even more impressive is the 360° panorama of the Alps. Avoriaz is brilliantly located right in the centre of the Portes du Soleil ski area. Beginners-only piste Première Glisse gives you the chance to improve at your own pace, while Proclou and Q'monts are easy blues for cr...
