With all rooms’ en-suite (double check), and very easy access to the piste and lifts (160 yards), this is a popular choice among families and groups alike. In the Savoie region of the French Alps, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built and 4 traditional. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a low ridge to th...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts for those new to skiing. This is complimented by a wide choice of different ski schools ready to cater to your particular needs. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners, with the blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin, providing a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate standard skiers this really is paradise. 77% of the runs are gra...
This is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Spend the night in the Black Sheep Igloos, facing Mont Blanc, complete with a fondue meal and a morning wakeup call with breakfast. If this isn’t your idea of fun then ice climbing in Champagny and husky sledding are also on offer. One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are a variety of ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at ...

"Really good food and staff"

Anonymous, Merseyside
3/ out of 5
Overall, we had a really good week. The best thing about the stay was the food, which was always a really high standard. I also thought the staff were very good; they made us feel comfortable and were always helpful, knowledgeable and polite. We were staying in a twin room which could have been a bit better and wasn’t as nice as some of the others in the chalet (it was smaller and we had less storage space). The bathroom was clean but I wasn’t very impressed with the carpeted floor which didn’t seem practical, it was difficult not to get it soaking wet. There was a sauna but I don’t think it was working very well as it only got to about 40 degrees. This aside, the communal spaces were nice and the location of the building was really good. The chalet is very near the ski lifts and shops and it’s in La Plagne 1800 which had everything we needed. There was the chance to do a couple of things like a bar crawl which we did, as well as other optional extras which we didn't get round do like snowmobiling.

"Happy with it all apart from the sauna"

We were quite happy with the accommodation. The service and food were both good. The location is fine as the lift is pretty much outside the chalet. The only downside to our stay here was the sauna which was very disappointing. Chalet Rousette is advertised as a chalet with a sauna but I don’t think it should be when the sauna is kept at only 50 degrees rather than the usual 90.
