Fantastic! We liked the space, the hosts, the location – pretty much everything! Food – 9/10 Bedrooms – 9/10 The only thing was that they’ve got a pool which is covered and it was very cold! We tried to get it heated up but they didn’t manage to sort it out. In the end it was too cold to use. + more

Location - where is Chalet Renard Bleu

Superb neighbouring chalets in an excellent location

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Renard Bleu description

We are delighted to introduce the brand new beautifully designed chalet Renard Bleu right in the heart of Les 2 Alpes, close to the popular Venosc Square with its many shops, bars and restaurants. Only the Rebard Bleu and Chalet Loup Blanc can boast of such fantastic accommodation and facilities in such an enviable location.

Guests will appreciate the chalets’ close proximity to the skiing and easy access to the resort centre. Just 500m walk across the square to the new Diable 6 seater chairlift (which last year replaced the gondola, fondly known as the ‘Red Eggs’). This long but fast lift will whisk skiers up to the Les Crêtes area and beyond. Alternatively take the Super Venosc chairlift, across the square taking you to the Vallée Blanche ski area on the other side of the valley, which is now connected to the main ski area by the Côte blue run and the Petite Aiguille chairlift. The world’s fastest gondola, the Jandri Express, which delivers skiers to the glacier in only 7 minutes, is also an option for ski access each day.

The chalet Renard Bleu has been designed to a high specification in a classic alpine style, with attractive facades of exposed stone and warm woods, coupled with fresh open-plan interiors furnished with contemporary flair. The well appointed lounge and dining area of each chalet will include a feature fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating, but the real wow factor lies beyond, through the double French windows which lead to the decked terrace area and the outdoor covered plunge pool. You may be tempted to take a dip at any time, thanks to the pool being both heated and covered in an attractive glass canopy.

Each of the Renard Bleu's bedrooms is a good size with wooden floors, panelled walls and some exposed beams as well as smart modern shower rooms. Many of them also benefit from a balcony.

A sauna on the ground floor of each chalet completes the sense of quality and style which our guests have come to expect from recent additions to our portfolio.

Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection.

Our Chalet Hotel adult-only dinners offer 5 courses, starting with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and a cheese selection to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee with chocolates to complete your evening's repast! Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

We update Chalet Renard Bleu's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet Renard Bleu in Les Deux Alpes, France departs Friday 16th December 2016, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Glacier Skiing Awesome après Loads to do

Gobsmacking views of Mont Blanc aren’t the only bonus of the glacier - this ‘upside down’ ski resort is one of the most snow sure in the Alps, so much so that you can ski here in the summertime. Much loved for its après ski, the town's main strip is bursting with some of the best bars in the mountains.

Grenoble is the closest airport with a transfer time of just under 2 hours, making the resort really accessible by road. The resort was first used for skiing as early as 1925, when the first ski tow was erected. Unfortunately, this rather Neanderthal piece of equipment fell down a mere 15 minutes after the opening ceremony! The “Les Deux Alpes”, as we know it today, was established in 1946. It is commonly assumed that the name is derived from the two mountains on either side of the town, when in reality the na...
There are plenty of beginner slopes on the front face with runs like les Vikings and Les Gentianes for those learning to ski. The great thing about LDA is that there are some terrific beginner slopes higher up the mountain so new skiers can really experience the benefits of skiing at altitude. The Cretes area at 2100m is the favourite spot for ski schools, with the Ski Escalator a welcome aid to those learning to ski. A top tip for beginners is to either ski the green back to resort early or opt for the gondola ...
You don’t have to look far to find good après in L2A. The best place to start has to be the Panoramique bar, known as Pano bar to the locals. This slopeside restaurant, based at 2,600m really comes alive between 3pm and 5pm every day with a DJ set that will vibrate through your whole body. At the bottom of the piste, Umbrella bar is a great place to keep the party going. If you want to take the night further then Smithy’s is the place to go, with great modern music as well as a few nights of live entertainmen...

"Superb!!!"

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! I wouldn’t change anything. The chalet is superb, the best we’ve stayed in! If we could go back again we’d have booked it already, but we have a bigger group next season. We’d definitely book it in the future though. The chalet is amazing; the whole place was so clean. Because it’s a new build we sort of imagined it would be out of town but it turns out the piece of land that they’d developed on used to be the tennis courts. So you’re in the hub of everything. They’ve been really beautifully done, someone’s taken great care making them – big chunky slate bathrooms, really nice touches, they didn’t scrimp on anything. The kitchen layout is really good, so it supports the hosts as well as the guests. The food was stunning! The hosts were absolutely exceptional. There was only one week left of the season after us, and they weren’t flagging at all. We absolutely loved how sociable the chalet was, lots of hosts were popping in and out – we had a jigsaw through the week and they’d come in and ask if they could do a piece. Something that was really useful is that several other companies came in and gave us a sales pitch. One was a local guide who told us all about which pistes to ski for our levels; we didn’t book him but the advice was great. Another was a local sports physio – three of our friends booked massages and loved them. I don’t think anyone would have thought of booking a physio massage had they not come to see us, but it was great. Location was great, like anything once you know your way around it’s a lot easier. The chalet is in between two bus stops, but we then worked out that actually if you just walk to one of the bus stops you can ski down if there’s enough snow. There’s an outdoor plunge pool (cold, don’t expect a hot tub!) which we enjoyed. The balance of having our own sauna and plunge pool was fantastic. There’s also a big outdoor seating area which went down really well.

I was staying in the very similar chalet Loup Blanc just next door, but we had a good look around Chalet Renard Bleu. It's a little smaller, as it sleeps 12-14 guests, but it's just as beautiful as it's neighbour. The plunge pool and sauna are amazing after a days hard skiing and the open plan lounge and dining area is spacious and inviting. The mix of modern touches and traditional panelling and furnishings throughout give the chalet a really luxurious feel. It's a pleasure to come back to!
