Chalet Poudreuse is a superb modern chalet in a great ski-in, ski-out location, conveniently located next to the Yeti bar & restaurant and just a few minutes' walk to the pedestrianised Avoriaz resort centre in the vast Portes du Soleil ski area. The location of this chalet is what all skiers dream of, and the perfect spot for your catered chalet ski weekend.
Chalet Poudreuse is very comfortably furnished with incredible panoramic views from the dining area. It is a standalone traditional chalet, presented in a modern, open, light, Alpine style, ideal for your chalet holiday.
Maximise your ski time - there is a bag store available from 0930 if you would like to ski on your arrival day, and we can store your bags and provide a shower & change area until 5pm on your departure day, giving you more time on the slopes.

Staying at Chalet Poudreuse will allow you the opportunity to genuinely ski to and from the door, enjoy après-ski bars on the doorstep and it's just minutes away from the traffic-free resort centre, where there are shops, cafés and the brilliant Aquariaz water park. A ski school meeting point is just meters away. Early booking is recommended to secure your dates of choice, as this chalet is in very high demand.
During the evening the area around the chalet becomes calm and quiet apart from the jingling bells of the horse sleighs trotting past. The neighbouring bars close by 6.30pm daily, ensuring a relaxing evening in the chalet.
Chalet Poudreuse has 6 good-sized en-suite bedrooms over two floors, each one with a shower and one room has a bath to soak in too. Five rooms have twin beds that can be made up as doubles; please request at booking. One room has a twin/double bed and a bunk bed (suitable for smaller adults). All rooms have smart TV's with usb ports. The first floor is a spacious, vaulted, living area. With an open-plan kitchen-diner and lounge area with a flatscreen smart TV with usb port (use your own account or device and cable), DVD player and music system, fireplace (modern log burner) and a balcony boasting panoramic views of the slopes and stunning sunsets. The chalet has a ski room with boot warmers too. To help relax and revive for a great day skiing there is a sauna on the lower ground floor, the bedrooms on this floor have natural light and ventilation but no view.
A snowcat resort taxi on arrival and departure in Avoriaz is included. This is a fun ride in a piste basher style vehicle, saving a 5 minute walk across snow from the Avoriaz Welcome Station (airport transfer drop-off point and car park) to the chalet door, or you can take a magical horse and sleigh resort taxi (payable locally).
On arrival you will be welcomed with tea and cake and before dinner on your first evening, there will be a welcome drink with canapes. Chalet Poudreuse is a catered chalet with VIP chalet board; our continental breakfast & delicious afternoon tea and cake are served daily, full English cooked breakfast and pancakes and porridge with sprinkles are served on 5 mornings in addition to the continental breakfast.
Baguette To Go : at breakfast you will be invited to make your own ham & cheese baguette, to take out if you wish.
Chalet evening meals ; we all look forward to the 4-course evening meal, which includes a cheese board with port or petit fours and has carefully selected finer wine included, throughout dinner service, which is served on 6 evenings . This is all provided by your chef and host who live out. During your stay, your chef will cater for special diet requirements at no extra supplement , just so long a it is booked no later than a few weeks before travel.
Host Time Off : Please note that your chef and host in this chalet, have Wednesday all day off and Saturday morning off, this gives you an opportunity to dine out in the resort on Wednesday evening, where there are plenty of lovely local restaurants, not to mention an excellent choice of bars and shops. On your hosts mornings off, you can help yourself to a delicious contintinental breakfast, freshly baked croissants delivered to your door, ham & cheese lunch baguettes to go and afternoon tea and cake will be available for you to self serve.
For families with younger children, a childrens menu can be pre booked before travel at no extra supplement. When booking the chalet for private sole use, an earlier childrens dinner time (high tea) can be pre-booked for a supplement.
The kettle is always on at a chalet, for you to help yourself to a great selection of hot drinks and your chalet hosts will ensure you will not go hungry and have food for energy for great days skiing.

Chalet Chef & Host day off is Wednesday and morning off is Saturday (these days will vary over Christmas and New Year).

Check in/Out :
On arrival day - you may arrive at Chalet Poudreuse anytime from 09:30 to change, leave your bags and go skiing. Your bedroom will be ready by 17:00 at the latest but normally earlier.
Late Arrival Supplement - if you are scheduled to arrive at the chalet after 21:30 we will book a host to return to work to let you into the chalet, show you to your room, provide you with information to ensure your ski time is not delayed the next day and to provide you with a light supper. There is a small supplement for late arrivals.
On your departure day , bedroom checkout is 09:00 but we know that you may want to ski until the last minute, so we ensure that there is somewhere for you to leave your bags and change up until 5pm. Where possible a shower will be made available for you to use too; this cannot be guaranteed until your departure day.
Please note that on guest changeover days, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, both departing and arriving guests will be sharing the chalet public areas.
Your mini-bus transfer from the airport will drop you at the Avoriaz Welcome Station.
Also included in your chalet holiday with us is a snowcat resort taxi, to get you to and from the chalet door.
